(Xinyi City, Jiangsu Province. <\/span>May 18, 2013). <\/span>More than 20 Family Planning Officials beat a farmer almost to death, because he and his wife have three children, according to a report by ChinaAid.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zhang Futao has suffered severe head injuries and is in critical condition from the beating, which occurred on Wednesday, May 15. <\/span>According to the family, he has a fractured skull and a brain hemorrhage. <\/span>His three children are ages 12, 6 and 4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reggie Littlejohn, president of Women\u2019s Rights Without Frontiers, stated, \u201cWe condemn this egregious, state-sponsored violence against an innocent citizen, whose only \u2018crime\u2019 is having more than one child. <\/span>Why was this man suddenly attacked, four years after the birth of his third child? We demand that the family planning attackers be brought to justice, that Mr. Zhang\u2019s full medical expenses be covered, and that his family be compensated.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Littlejohn continued, \u201cThis attack also serves as a reminder that men as well as women suffer as a result of violence in the name of population control. <\/span>On March 21, 2011, Family Planning Officials stabbed a young man to death while he was trying to protect his father from a beating. <\/span>The Officials had entered the home to seize the man\u2019s sister for a forced sterilization. The spirit of the Red Guard lives on in China\u2019s population control machine. <\/span>Family Planning Officials are above the law and function as domestic terrorists.\u201d
