Her grandfather on her mother\u2019s side suffers from paralysis.\u00a0 His condition has caused financial hardship because the family has no insurance, so they have spent all their money on his medical care.\u00a0 They have even taken loans from relatives, though they do not know how they will be able to pay these off.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1476074344259_29917\" class=\"yiv5576102735MsoNormal\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1476074344259_29916\">Lian\u2019s mother was already very stressed when she found out that she was pregnant.\u00a0 Her family told her it was not a good time to have a baby, but they were willing to support the pregnancy if the child were a boy.\u00a0 When the doctor told them that she was pregnant with a girl, Lian\u2019s grandmother on her father\u2019s side began to pressure her mother to have an abortion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1476074344259_29963\" class=\"yiv5576102735MsoNormal\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1476074344259_29962\">This poor mother did not want to abort her daughter, but she did not know what to do.\u00a0 Then, she heard about our \u201cSave a Girl\u201d Campaign and reached out to us for help to save her daughter\u2019s life.\u00a0 A fieldworker traveled to Lian\u2019s village, knocked on the door of their humble home and offered hope.\u00a0 She told Lian\u2019s mother that girls are just as precious as boys.\u00a0 She offered\u00a0 Lian\u2019s mother a monthly stipend for a year to empower her to keep her daughter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1476074344259_29915\" class=\"yiv5576102735MsoNormal\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1476074344259_29914\">Lian\u2019s mother gratefully accepted our offer of help.\u00a0 She gave birth to Lian, a beautiful and healthy baby girl, and she is delighted with her new daughter.\u00a0 Lian\u2019s mother told our fieldworker that, without our help, she \u201cwould have no chance to see her daughter, who now makes her so happy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1476074344259_29989\"><strong id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1476074344259_29988\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1476074344259_29987\">Will you help us save women and girls in China?
