Yet, the extent of the punishment it has decided to mete out in response to that treaty obligation \u2013 to say nothing of its moral responsibility in the face of such human rights abuses as mass incarceration, slave labor, systematic rape, forced abortions and sterilizations, torture and wholesale murder \u2013 can only be characterized as pathetic and utterly inadequate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.presentdangerchina.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Committee on the Present Danger: China<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>(CPDC),&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womensrightswithoutfrontiers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Women\u2019s Rights Without Frontiers<\/a>,<\/strong>&nbsp;and their&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/genocidegames.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stop the Genocide Games Task Force<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>consider the so-called \u201cdiplomatic boycott\u201d of the Olympic Games in February to be a necessary, but grossly insufficient, response to a Chinese regime guilty of the most egregious and murderous oppression in world history. Inevitably, such a response will only embolden the CCP to further \u2013 and probably&nbsp;<em>far more devastating<\/em>\u2013 criminal misconduct, both at home and abroad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Reggie Littlejohn<\/strong>, President of&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womensrightswithoutfrontiers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Women\u2019s Rights Without Frontiers<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>and Co-Chairman of the Stop the Genocide Games Task Force, noted following the announcement of a diplomatic boycott: &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>\u201cThe 2022 Olympics in Beijing look ominously similar to the 1936 Games held in Berlin, Germany.&nbsp;&nbsp;Like in 1936, we are confronting another totalitarian regime actively engaging in genocide.&nbsp;&nbsp;We must not make the mistake again of allowing a genocidal regime to glory in hosting the world\u2019s most prestigious international event.&nbsp;&nbsp;Indeed, as a signatory of the&nbsp;<\/em><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/genocideprevention\/documents\/atrocity-crimes\/Doc.1_Convention%20on%20the%20Prevention%20and%20Punishment%20of%20the%20Crime%20of%20Genocide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Genocide Convention<\/a>&nbsp;<\/em><em>of 1948, the United States cannot allow this to happen.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>\u201cSpecifically, Article 1 of the Genocide Convention states, \u2018The Contracting Parties confirm that genocide, whether committed in time of peace or time of war,&nbsp;<strong>is a crime under international law which they undertake to prevent and to punish.\u2019<\/strong>&nbsp;As a Contracting Party, the United States has committed itself to \u201cprevent and punish\u201d those committing genocide.&nbsp;&nbsp;So have the other signatories the world over.&nbsp;&nbsp;Relocation of the \u2018Genocide Games\u2019 and, failing that, their comprehensive boycott should be just the beginning of this punishment.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Biden\u2019s boycott is bogus because the CCP had already disinvited the world to the Games.&nbsp;&nbsp;In October, at the request of China\u2019s Olympic Committee, \u201cBeijing 22,\u201d the International Olympic Committee&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/genocidegames.org\/opinion-beijings-genocide-games-spectators-banned-athletes-jabbed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">banned&nbsp;international spectators<\/a>&nbsp;from attending the Genocide Games.&nbsp; Only people living in China \u2014 only people under the CCP\u2019s surveillance and control \u2014 will be allowed to attend the Games.&nbsp;&nbsp;According to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/us-beijing-winter-olympics-diplomatic-boycott\/2021\/12\/06\/1d2e9920-56b1-11ec-9a18-a506cf3aa31d_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a>&nbsp;in the Washington Post this week, a Chinese Foreign Ministry official, Zhao Lijian, stated, \u201cU.S. politicians keep hyping a \u2018diplomatic boycott\u2019 without even being invited to the Games.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">If the United States government\u2014now joined by Canada, the U.K. and Australia\u2014is recognizing, however inadequately, its obligation to punish genocide and the unacceptability of Communist China\u2019s other \u201cegregious human rights abuses,\u201d what about the corporate sponsors, who stand to profit from their support of the \u201cGenocide Games,\u201d and who have yet to decline to reward the CCP for perpetrating such horrors? Are they indifferent to these crimes and willing to be seen as tolerating, if not<strong>&nbsp;tacitly&nbsp;<em>endorsing<\/em>, them?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Should the U.S. and other Olympians need further reasons to join the boycott, those athletes should reflect on the&nbsp;<em>certitude&nbsp;<\/em>that they will be at risk of one or more of the following: health consequences of China\u2019s lingering Covid and\/or environmental predations; physical surveillance and possible harm, if not incarceration, at the whim of the Chinese government; and the theft of their DNA, which will almost certainly be put in the service of the CCP\u2019s bioengineering of super-humans\/warriors and biological weapons tailored to attack certain ethnicities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Committee on the Present Danger: China and its Stop the Genocide Games Task Force believe that&nbsp;<strong>the Chinese Communist Party must be deemed ineligible to host what is arguably the most prestigious international event on earth \u2013 the Olympic Games<\/strong>. Moving the Games at this point would require delaying them, perhaps for a year. But, if the Tokyo Games were delayed a year because of Covid, surely the 2022 Games can be delayed a year because of genocide.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) should immediately call for the Games to be moved to a new host nation.
