{"id":534,"date":"2012-02-20T23:33:51","date_gmt":"2012-02-20T23:33:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.womensrightswithoutfrontiers.org\/blog\/?p=534"},"modified":"2019-03-28T01:12:27","modified_gmt":"2019-03-28T01:12:27","slug":"forced-abortion-opponent-chen-guangcheng-is-ill-collapses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.womensrightswithoutfrontiers.org\/blog\/forced-abortion-opponent-chen-guangcheng-is-ill-collapses\/","title":{"rendered":"Forced Abortion Opponent Chen Guangcheng Is Ill, Collapses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Women\u2019s Rights Without Frontiers has received credible reports that Chen Guangcheng is seriously ill, and other members of his family are languishing as well.\u00a0 According to one report, Chen\u2019s second elder brother died of stomach cancer on the Chinese New Year\/Spring Festival on January 23.\u00a0 Chen, his wife and mother were not allowed to attend the funeral.\u00a0 A few days later, according to a report by CHRD, Chen was seen to take a few steps in the courtyard.\u00a0 \u201cHe looked pale and moved unsteadily. Only a few steps out of the door he fainted and fell to the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chen\u2019s wife, Yuan Weijing, also was recently spotted leaning against the interior wall of their courtyard, looking \u201cskinny . . . it seemed that it was difficult for her to move her waist.\u201d\u00a0 Yuan was driven back into the house by guards.<\/p>\n<p>Chen\u2019s mother, in her eighties, became ill during the Spring Festival and has not recovered.\u00a0 She used to go out to buy food for the family. \u00a0\u201cSince the Spring Festival, Chen\u2019s mother has not come out any more. No one has been seen to send food to Chen Guangcheng\u2019s home.
