Jimmy Lai is one of the greatest champions of freedom alive today – yet he has been in solitary confinement on Hong Kong for nearly five years. He has stood up to the Chinese Communist Party, founding the Apple Daily newspaper, which criticized the CCP for the Tiananmen Square Massacre and for its takeover of Hong Kong.
Today is his 78th birthday, and Jimmy Lai’s life is in danger. He has diabetes, hypertension and a heart condition that are not being treated in prison. His son and daughter say that his health is failing in prison.
